The fifth issue of the deepin Bi-Weekly Technical Report has been released. We will briefly list the progress of various deepin teams over the past two weeks and outline the general plan for the next two weeks!

DDE

Defect fixes for deepin 23 and requirement development for deepin 25 are progressing steadily in parallel. The specific progress and plans are as follows:

Progress

  • Completed adaptation support for Qt 6.8 for components such as clipboard, unmount service, and tray loader.
  • Further adaptation of Treeland for multiple components including the taskbar.
  • The account, network, personalization, and keyboard modules of the QML control center are under continuous development and have been initially completed, with other modules still being optimized.

Plans

  • Continue the development of new modules such as the deepin 25 control center.
  • Fully support Qt 6.8 for the remaining components.
  • Continuously fix defects based on community feedback.

System Development

Progress

  • Upgraded rustc to 1.81 and over 2500 Rust module packages.
  • Updated Virtualbox to version 7.0.20.
  • Updated polkit-qt-1 to 0.200.0.
  • Fixed dependencies for some prel language-related software packages.
  • Fixed dependencies for some Node.js series software packages.
  • Updated Thunderbird version.
  • Updated CVE security vulnerabilities.
  • Upgraded Qt6.8 system software packages (30/39 in progress).

Plans

  • Software package updates.
  • Updates for CVE security vulnerabilities.
  • Upgrade to Qt 6.8.

 

Treeland

Progress

  • Optimized rendering performance of the workspace.
  • Fixed crash issues in extreme cases of window display.

Plans

  • Support for multi-user wallpaper functionality.
  • Support for random wallpapers in workspaces.

 

Linux Kernel

Progress

  • Upgraded the base kernel version to 6.6.60.
  • Fixed the issue where the built-in microphone of Xiaomi Book Pro 14 2022 was not working.
  • Synced with the upstream Intel QAT (QuickAssist Technology) driver.
  • Synced with the upstream Intel IAA (Intel Advanced Accelerator) compression accelerator driver.
  • Fixed the issue where the PMU (Performance Monitoring Unit) names for Intel's next-generation Xeon Granite Rapids (GNR) were the same as those for the fourth and fifth generation Xeons (SPR and EMR).
  • Optimized the network performance of Realtek network cards.
  • Fixed the issue where proxy settings for x86 architecture applications might not take effect.

Plans

  • To advance the support for the SG2042 kernel.
