The second biweekly technical progress of deepin in 2025 has been released. We will briefly list the work progress of various deepin teams over the past two weeks and also outline the plans for the next two weeks. This is to help friends who love and follow deepin understand the details and get involved.
DDE (deepin Desktop Environment)
Progress
- Fixed some multilingual support issues in the Control Center.
- Added a jostling effect when dragging in the launcher's free sorting mode.
- Added support for searching homophones in the launcher.
- Fixed the issue where notification bubbles may not disappear in some cases.
- Fixed style and behavior issues in Control Center modules such as Bluetooth, network, and updates.
Plan
- Focus on defect repair and continue to address related issues based on user feedback for deepin 25 Preview.
- Continue the development of unfinished Control Center modules.
System Development
Progress
- Updated CVE security vulnerabilities.
- Updated mesa to version 24.3 and its related dependencies.
- Added LoongArch64 architecture support to edk2.
- Updated util-linux to version 2.40.4.
- Added usbguard and its related dependencies.
- Completed the cross-compilation toolchain for gcc-12.
- Updated opensbi to version 1.6.
- Updated lightdm to add support for Qt6.
Plan
- Continue package updates.
- Proceed with the repair of CVE security vulnerabilities.
Linux Kernel
- Updated the dual-line kernels to 6.6.76 (HWE) and 6.12.13 (Rolling).
- Added support for uncore-frequency control on Intel Kaby Lake (7th generation) and newer platforms, which can improve energy efficiency and performance.
- Optimized the performance of STMMAC (commonly found on LoongArch and Phytium platforms).
- Enhanced the stability of MediaTek Bluetooth and wireless network cards.
- Backported several upstream fixes for Loongson processors.
