deepin Community products
In December 2024, deepin 23 was updated in beta three times. The main focus of this month was to fix security vulnerabilities to continuously improve system security.
deepin Home
In December 2024, Depth Home received a total of 176 bug and feature feedback from users:
Among them, there were 128 bug reports, 4 of which have been fixed, and 13 confirmed issues pending resolution; There were 48 feature requests, 8 of which have been completed, and 13 have been accepted.
2、Support for deepin Subsystem distrobox
You can download and install Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch Linux subsystems with one click from the store, and quickly launch them from the launcher.

deepin Community Global Impact
During the conference, Oscar Mosquera expressed his gratitude to the deepin team and community, introduced their enthusiasm and efforts in participating in the deepin community and open-source projects, and shared his team's Killa OS project. The Killa OS project aims to provide equitable access to technical education for indigenous and remote communities in Ecuador by translating the deepin operating system into the local Kichwa language. In addition, the project plans to publish multilingual versions of deepin Insight, catering to children as well, to further popularize technical knowledge.
deepin Community SIG Progress
Current SIG Updates:
1. deepin-ports SIG:
- Continuously advancing the mainline kernel support efforts, achieving the packaging of the RISC-V mainline kernel within the build system;
- The preliminary work for the RISC-V ISO image has been completed, and it is expected that next month an RISC-V ISO image for mainline support devices such as QEMU and Unmatched will be released.
2. deepin LoongArch SIG:
- Longxin Technology engineers have integrated most of the new features from the upstream mainline into LLVM 17, Binutils 2.41, and GCC 12, especially the la664 core optimizations, enhanced vector optimization support, and the addition of a series of ELF relocation supports.
3. deepin-sysdev-team:
- Update to the mesa 24.3 series package version;
Fix error messages when connecting to networks in wpa and network-manager;
Fix the issue of renaming vfat formatted USB drives with Chinese characters in udisks2;
Added tuned, tecla, asio, txt2tags, and exim4 to the repository;
Update for CVE security vulnerabilities;
PipeWire support for mono audio settings;
Binutils LoongArch64 architecture merged a large number of upstream patches, fixed several bugs, and added TLS-related features;
GCC 12 LoongArch64 architecture merged a large number of upstream patches, fixed several bugs;
Reprepro repository management tool updated to fix SHA512 calculation error;
Fcitx5 updated to upstream version 5.1.11, Golang-1.22 updated to 1.22.6, NCNN updated to version 20240820;
Added Incus series packages, added f2fs-tools, added uml-utilities, added mvdsv ktx series packages;
BlueZ updated to resolve Bluetooth device connection issues on some models.
4. DDE SIG:
Further improvement of Treeland's adaptation support;
Fixed several Qt and DDE issues found during the Wayland adaptation process;
Fine-tuned the visual effects of DTK's menu and scrollbar components;
Continuously fixed bugs in DDE components such as the taskbar and notifications based on community feedback;
Adjusted the technical preview interface to add a restart prompt dialog and processing flow;
Designed and improved the network, personalization, updates, display, and date/time modules in the QML version of the control center.
5. dde-port SIG:
- Arch Linux handling of dbus issues caused by dde-app-service;
- deepin-anything ported to be compatible with multiple different architectures provided by openSUSE.
6. deepin-kernel SIG:
Version Upgrade
- The kernel base version has been upgraded to 6.6.66;
- The 6.6 kernel codebase has been updated to 6.6.69.
Device and Driver Upgrades
- Incorporate some Intel audio support improvements from the 6.8 - 6.11 branch to support new platform devices;
Merge the RAID card driver from Zongcun Technology;
Enable support for more Intel devices in the x86 kernel;
The 6.6 kernel now supports multiple Bluetooth devices, including Realtek 8852BT/8852BE-VT, 8922AE, and MediaTek MT7920;
Incorporate upstream Intel idle driver support for Granite Rapid and Sierra Forest platforms, along with important bug fixes;
Incorporate upstream improvements for the Intel pstate driver;
Incorporate upstream updates and fixes for the Intel TPMI driver;
Merge a fix for the RAID card driver from Zongcun Technology;
Merge a fix for a null pointer dereference issue in the MediaTek MT7920 network card driver.
Architecture and Feature Support
Incorporate some commits from the upstream main branch;
Enable ftrace system call support for the ARM kernel;
Enable hardware acceleration support for encryption and decryption, as well as ZIP compression algorithms, for Kunpeng devices in the ARM kernel;
Incorporate upstream support for x86 KVM virtualization linear address masking;
Export some kernel symbols required by the binder driver to support Waydroid;
Merge the lock_down feature to enhance support for secure boot;
Introduce support for printing distribution, compilation toolchain, and other information in the kernel log;
Introduce a feature to print reports in the kernel log when memory issues are detected on the x86 architecture;
Merge architecture and platform support fixes from outside the upstream, including for x86 and ARM platforms.
deepin Community Ecosystem
1、deepin App Store December Activity
In December, the app store completed over 1,400 app review tests, launched 1,282 apps, including 1,128 new apps (including Linglong and deb packages) and 154 app updates and upgrades. Popular apps such as "QQ," "DingTalk," "WeChat," and "Youdao Cloud Notes" underwent minor version iterations to further enhance user experience. Additionally, by the end of 2024, the app store has successfully launched over 3,244 Linglong apps.
deepin Community Events
1、The 14th deepin Developers' and Users' Conference (DDUC 2024)
On December 21, 2024, the 14th deepin Developers' and Users' Conference (DDUC) was successfully held at Hubei University in Wuhan. Themed "Deep in deepin," the conference looked back on the two decades of deepin's development, showcasing the core technologies of deepin 25 and the community's significant achievements in 2024.
The founder of the deepin community, Liu Wenhuan, shared the growth journey from the release of Hiweed Linux 0.3 in 2004 to the current global user base exceeding 8 million. The conference also featured updates on product technology evolution and the progress of building an international community, innovations in the new desktop environment Treeland and the Panshi system of deepin 25, and invited partners from Intel, Loongson Technology,Zhaoxin, Hygon, and Phytium to share their cooperation and contributions in the open-source field.
deepin Forum
In December, the deepin forum saw a total of 12,690 posts, including 1,096 new topic threads, and 622 new members joined the deepin forum.
