In a bid to challenge Microsoft's Copilot, the developers of Deepin have announced they've begun the process of integrating AI into the desktop. The team behind Deepin had already teased UOS AI (a tool to interface with different AI tools), which could help users more easily manage all kinds of processes (as well as generative AI work), but it seems they've opted to tone down the AI integration and offer only two different options: an AI coding assistant, and an image-editing plugin. Overview of deepin Community in December 1107 new members joined deepin community, bringing the total number of forum members to 150,032. The deepin OS system was updated 5 times, with 43 bug fixes and 20 new features added. deepin-IDE (Deepin Union Code) received a major update. The SIG groups of deepin submitted 1219 PRs and 233 issues, with a total of 38 SIG groups currently active.   Community Products deepin operating system On December 1st, 1 new feature was added, 4 new repositories were added, and 15 issues were fixed. On December 8th, 3 new features were added, 2 new repositories were added, and 2 issues were fixed. On December 15th, 5 new features were added, 2 new repositories were added, and 2 issues were fixed. On December 22nd, 1 new feature was added, 2 new repositories were added, and 4 issues were fixed. On December 28th, 10 new features were added and 20 issues were fixed. Major update for deepin-IDE The focus of this deepin-IDE update is to improve the appearance and AI capabilities. The most important update is that deepin-IDE's intelligent plugins now support generating DTK-style code. It is currently possible to directly generate DTK-style code in the Q&A module. Community Delivery System The new application submission platform, "Community Delivery System" was finally put into use. Based on this easy-to-use submission system, we hope to have more people participate in the construction of the deepin application store's open source ecosystem. Whether you are an application developer or maintainer, you can contribute to the open source ecosystem and look forward to seeing your contributions in the ocean of the open source world.   Progress of SIG Groups DDE SIG: There has been a phased achievement in the QML-ization of multiple components of DDE. DDE-launchpad is about to move out of the technical preview stage, and the overall functionality of DDE-shell has been improved. dde-port SIG: Continued efforts to port DDE to various distributions. Distributions, including Arch Linux and NixOS, have gradually begun to support DTK6 and the new DDE QML project. deepin-ports SIG: The mainline RISC-V can now boot to the desktop environment on DC ROMA. Loong64 has also entered the mainline build. deepin-sysdev-team: Updated Qt to 6.6.1, as well as other batches of system core software package versions. deepin-cicd-team: Continuously improving the intelligence of the automated pipeline.
